TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida man was forcibly committed for a mental evaluation after he threatened to stab students and staff at an elementary school.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says Andrew Aman told his roommate he disliked the Tampa school because an exterior wall was painted like an American flag. The roommate contacted authorities.

Television station WFTS reports that deputies found no firearms in his home and that he was never a threat to students or staff at the school.

Aman was involuntarily hospitalized for a mental evaluation under Florida’s Baker Act.
