UFC 241 was stacked with some incredible fights, and they all delivered in their own special way, but the top three fights to close out the night were truly the show stealers. In the main event, Stipe Miocic reclaimed the heavyweight throne when he came back from a rough start in the opening rounds of his fight with Daniel Cormier before knocking him out in the fourth. The co-main event saw Nate Diaz make a successful return after a three-year layoff to batter a revitalized Anthony Pettis over three rounds. And finally, Paulo Costa silenced plenty of doubters with his unanimous decision win over Yoel Romero.

It was a night to remember and with it now over, let’s take a look at how the winners and losers of the main card reacted to their performances from Saturday night.

The Main Event: Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic

The rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic was much different than the first time. Not only did the fight last longer than their first meeting, but the result also changed with Miocic being the one to get a knockout over Cormier. Before losing the title to Cormier, Miocic was labeled as the “Baddest Man on the Planet” and he has officially retrieved that label as well as some shiny new gold. He took to social media to post a photo with his new championship belt.

Cormier has yet to comment on his social media accounts.

The Co-Main Event: Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz

A fight six years in the making finally happened between Anthony Pettis and Nate Diaz and it lived up to some grand expectations. Knowing the bad blood between these two, the fight was sure to be fun, and it was with Diaz coming back and absolutely drubbing Pettis inside of three rounds.

Diaz has yet to comment on his social media accounts.

Although he came close to being stopped in the third round, Pettis toughed it out, but not without sustaining some significant damage. In two separate posts, Pettis congratulated Diaz on the win and revealed a broken foot that came from a headkick thrown during the second round.

Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa

Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa put on the fight everyone wanted them to. Romero and Costa spent three rounds landing some serious bombs on one another, but it was Costa who walked away with the decision victory. Costa posted a series of photos from the fight between him and Romero and thanked fans and God for the support he received.

Romero has yet to comment on his social media accounts.

Gabriel Benítez vs. Sodiq Yusuff

Featherweight prospects in Gabriel Benitez and Sodiq Yusuff put on a great show for as long as it lasted. Both had their moments in the fight, but Yusuff put a stamp on his with a knockout of Benitez before the round’s end. Yusuff posted a photo of him and Benitez following their fight with a caption that praised his opponent.

Benitez posted a photo of himself with a few stitches under his right eye and thanked fans for support despite the fight not going how he intended.

Derek Brunson vs. Ian Heinisch

Derek Brunson picked up another win when he defeated Ian Heinisch on the opener of the main card. Brunson posted several actions shots of the fight and thanked the Californian fans.

Heinisch was disappointed in his performance and revealed that he “felt terrible” after the first round. He vowed to come back from the loss and thanked everyone from his family to his team.
